Surveys indicate that about a third of the country think armed revolution may be necessary at some point. I wouldn’t read too much into that. People of all stripes are dissatisfied with the government. It’s a big freaking step to take up arms.
Who do you plan on shooting? Why is that a good idea? You do realize that people shoot back, don’t you? Then there’s the role of law enforcement and the military. They get a say in how that shakes out.
Burning it all down sometimes seems like the only solution. Democracy is slow and messy. Revolution appears quick, but it isn’t. Historically civil wars last about 10 years. That’s a long time to be in constant danger. Don’t expect the power and water to keep flowing. Supply trucks don’t make regular runs into combat zones. Medicines won’t be available. Millions would die.
When it’s all over the government that is formed probably won’t be better than what we have now. That’s just how these things tend to sort out. That’s if you are on the winning side. Things will really suck for the losers.
As boring and tedious as the process can be, our best bet to improve lives are political solutions. Efforts to make our elections fair and our voters educated will produce the best results. The United States already had a civil war caused by political failure. That didn’t work out very well for most people.

Democracy IS messy; that's why the founding fathers made it a REPUBLIC, not a democracy.
ReplyDeleteToo many people seem to have forgotten that, and the difference.
Whether violence will happen can't be be easily predicted. What is certain is the criminal left is in power and WILL NOT relinquish that power willingly or peacefully. They have already proven they will commit any crime required to achieve and maintain that hold on power. They will NEVER give up, quit, go away or coexist. EVER. As the saying goes....you can vote your way into socialism/communism but you must shoot your way out.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, more concerned about the radical right. It wasn't the left storming the capital.
DeleteLol, storming the Capitol. Really? It was a noisy riot, particularly when compared with the 6 months of violent rioting and looting sponsored by the Democrats that left 35 people dead, 2000 police officers injured, 33 of whom were permanently blinded by lazers and several disabled permanently, homes and businesses destroyed, federal buildings burnt and vandalized, over $2 billion in damage.
DeleteIn comparison Jan 6th was a peaceful protest only marred by the execution of a clearly unarmed 90lb white woman who was gunned down in cold blood by a Democrat goon hidden behind a locked reinforced door.
As Pelosi said over all that violence and looting, "people do what people will do". That applies to Jan 6th too.
As for armed revolution, you might have skipped history class but that's how our nation was founded.
LOL....Jan 6 was NOT "storming the capital". It was a lot of people upset over the blatant election fraud expressing their displeasure. NONE of them were armed and the ONLY fatality was an unarmed woman murdered by a cowardly cop. You don't show up for an "insurrection" unarmed. Don't buy into the left and their media whores lies about Jan 6.
