Snow!?

I can deal with flood watches on Memorial weekend. It's not barbecue weather, but I can deal. The rivers are running high and are brown with mud. It's not nice, but it's not too out of the ordinary.

However, when the rain starts to have snow mixed it, that's too much. No telling what it'll be like in the wee hours of the morning. Could be interesting. I'm glad I live on high ground.

The house batteries are charged up. A bit more food has been added to the larder. The woodstove is keeping the house warm. I'm about as prepared as I'm going to be.

When the weather is this nasty, my little dog refuses to go outside and do her business alone. She insists I bundle up, put a leash on her, and then she's fine. Nobody, not even little dogs, like to suffer alone.

  1. We never let our little dog out on her own anyway - too many coyotes. Sorry about the weather up your way. It's a little cool here, but not THAT cool!

    1. My little dog knows all about coyotes and avoids them like the plague. Won't leave the house if they are around either.

  2. I grumble about our weather here, it's been much colder and wetter than usual for this time of year but I haven't had any snow! There has been snow however in other parts of the UK, up to 2" and that's unusual, with bloqued roads etc. I follow Drakensview, a blog from a South African gentleman and his weather has been unusual too, with constant rain all summer, he was saying even the amphibians were hidding from it! And they started having snow about a month early on the Berg. Maybe I should call my boat Noah's Ark!

  3. Enjoying the Global Warming are we?

Day before yesterday broke the high/cold temp and 24 hr rainfall records both around here set back in 1905.
It was supposed to rain today but it was gorgeous instead.

How do I get a job paying six figures to be wrong every other day?

The saying around here is that if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes.
It's not too far from the truth sometimes either.

    1. Global weirding? Maybe?

Funny we have the same saying around here. Supposed to get in the 80s later in the week.

Glad I'm not the only one that is experiencing it!

  5. It's a cold day in hell...As the old timers would have put it. It's the start of the new mini-ice age. Nothing to worry about, just adjust yer preps. I really gotta get a start on my boat. I'm gonna need it for the trip south.

    1. My winter plans are to avoid it by living on boats in warmer waters.

  7. The weather has a mind of its own. When mankind starts to think it can control everything, just tell them to step outside and change the weather.
