A couple hours for the boat

It's starting to look a bit more like a boat. In fact, flip in over and put it in the water and it'll behave like a boat. That's progress in my book.

It's rough. The extra glue needs to be cleaned up, holes filled, and the bottom fiberglassed.

All that so I can flip it over and build the cabin, seats, and so on.

Right now there's a tarp covering it to keep everything dry. As time and breaks in the weather allow, I'll whisk the tarp off and play with the boat some more. Good fun.

It's a nice break from all the depressing news out there.

  1. The last time I really felt alive was when I built "Keep It Sailing Stupid". I love building boats. I love building ANYTHING, or rebuilding anything...

  5. The boat is coming along. Right now you, if you needed to, you could flip it over and use it to mix cement. (grin) The shape sort of lends it shape to easy mixing.

    1. Naw, too many things already installed in the middle to be good for cement mixing. Could bash them out if I had to . . .

  6. Good show, I envy your progress. I'm stuck with a mess of bills and Uma's final expenses before my boat gets started. I'm resolved to be patient and get it together in it's own time. Being sidelined for 2 weeks hurt a bit, but it's just now working out to the better. It doesn't look like I'll make the regatta in the burg this year.

    1. Patience is a wonderful thing.

I find this job going painfully slow. At least it is moving.
