Chemical Weapons?

The United States Government has decided to get more deeply involved in the Syrian civil war. The “red line” that was supposedly crossed was the use of chemical weapons. Does this sound like Iraq's “weapons of mass destruction” to anyone else? Evidence is weak, and we aren't even sure which side is responsible.

Could someone explain to me why a Syrian civil war is worth American tax dollars or even American lives? These things have a way of escalating.

Nobody remembers history so we are doomed to repeat it. The Syrian problem has already involved its neighbors. How long will Israel be on the sidelines? Russia? China? Who knows where this will end?

It could end in a world war, that's where.

History could show up what to avoid, but if we can't even remember the Iraq war, there's not much hope of learning from earlier conflicts.

  1. I agree - This latest fiasco does not look good for us at all. What the heck is wrong with Washington? They must have a secret bunker to hide in......

  2. We need to bring our men and women home and defend our own. Let the others continue what they've been doing for the last few hundred years. We aren't going to change anything over there.

  3. Not only did Obama pledge to fix the past but he promised to avoid repeating it...how's that workin' out for ya?

Ike was correct when warning of the power the military/industrial complex wields. We should have paid attention!

  4. War does two things: keeps the money flowing for the military/industrial complex and makes the zero-population growth people happy. Apparently, they're the only ones that matter.

    1. Syria doesn't even have all that much oil. Iran must be the real target, so expect a wider war.

  6. I'm wondering what the real back story is.
    Why now?
Al Jazeera reported CLEAR BACK IN DECEMBER that chemical weapons had been turned loose and I Blogged about it then.
It took six months to confirm that?
    I don't think so.
I am thinking that Obama is just trying to help the economy....
    Of the Military Industrial Complex.

There is a a reason why they waited six months and they aren't going to say why but you can bet your ass it is nefarious.

  7. The world just continues to go down the path to self destruction and some governments just can't get enough conflicts to join up to.

    1. Kill for peace has never worked out all that well. Lessons are never learned, at least by those in power.

  8. Syria is the back door to a much sought after conflict with Iran. They would have already went after Iran but the Russians don't want anyone busting caps on low yield nukes in their back yard. And Iran will do just that. These empire builders in up on capital hill are out of control. The US of A is starting to look like Rome. Cutting to the chase, The PAX - Americana is going down the roman route to oblivion. That ends with barbarian hordes running loose in the streets. Enemies at the gates for real. One must remember the 3 things that decided the romans fate. Wholesale corruption, The excesses of bread and circuses, and the plebeian vote. Those were the tipping points on a nation weakened by wars of conquest.
Let's all have a rousing cheer USA numba one GI...Oh beautiful for smoggy skies above the GMO grain........Flie the friendly skies with Amerikan Airlines, Our TSA operatives will put a smile on your face with a lap dance and a happy ending....This land ain't your land, It ain't my land, It's in foreclosure from californy to the new york sky line....Muhahaha cough choke weeze.

    1. Empires die a messy death. Every single one of them think that this time it's going to be different. Like history's lessons don't apply to them.
