Internet service failure

The local Internet company still hasn't fixed its faulty equipment. The local area was without the 'net until this morning. Hope to get tomorrow's blog set up before service fails again.

  1. Internet service is not a service. My "provider" rips me off for $130 a month, and all I get is basic cable TV and "high speed" internet.

    1. $40/month for Internet . . . when it's working.

  2. We have a Verizon Hot Spot for travel and has been used when the land-line internet service goes down. Got to have back-ups, right?

    1. Right, but there's on cell service here so a hot spot wouldn't save me. Used to have Wildblue. Worked well enough, but pricey for the speed. Beat the heck out of my half speed dialup, so it was an improvement. Cable's faster and cheaper but has gone out a lot lately.

  3. A former instructor of mine says that internet and cable in Europe is far better and far cheaper. U.S. companies are simply bribing the government to allow them to offer such poor and over-priced service.

    1. That fits the facts as I know them. When a place like S. Korea can have faster and cheaper Internet, something is wrong.
