We’re back

We weathered the storm in good shape. The grid and Internet went down around 9 p. m. Monday night, but soon came back up. There’s no obvious damage around the house. Later, when the rain slacks off, I’ll walk the property and check the tree damage.

While we got some strong wind gusts, it wasn’t all that bad. The hills protected us. During the night, the wind sounded like a freight train in the distance, but we were shielded from the worse. Luck and location were on our side. At least 200,000 other New Hampshire residents lost power.

Thanks for all the prayers and positive thoughts sent our way.

  1. Glad to hear you made it through. We're getting some pretty high winds here in GA and the temp is dropping, but don't think it has anything to do with storm.

  2. The rain shadow from the ridge protected us here. But its in the 40's here. Just south of us got over 12 inches of snow. Power never blinked. I got hear the wind, but it was way up high. Pittsburgh wasn't so lucky. I've been up all night, so I'll be off to bed in a few after I check my daily reads. Good to know yunz are mkay.

  4. Thanks for the update. I wondered how you would fair in the storm. One never knows...just saying. We have been through some pretty major ones with barely any destruction and less severe storms have wrecked havoc. Go figure.

    1. Things can get pretty random. We were prepped, but you never know.

  5. Glad to hear you're okay. We got off easy here in the Ohio Valley as well. Folks in our West Virginia mountains didn't fair so well, though, from what I'm hearing.

    1. West Virginia looks like they got clobbered. Hope everyone takes care.

The Ohio Valley must have been right on the outer edge of it?

    1. Really not that much different from preparing for a blizzard.
