Snow?
Looks like it's that time of year again. Woke up to big heavy snowflakes falling from the sky. This probably won't last, but it won't be long until it does.
Not to toot my own horn, but we got snow here at the foot of America's mountain back on September 9th. Just about six inches, nothing since but an early start nonetheless. I kind of expect a pretty dry winter here since last year we got more than double the usual amount of snow.
We tried Thursday but there were whitecaps at the boatramp. Rained hard Friday then turned to snow this morning. However, it's mostly gone now. We should have some decent days this week to give it another go.
Deep snow can be shoveled to where it is needed. No need to insulate the northern hemisphere. Just kidding, I'm in Downeast Maine - looking forward to a snowy winter here, too.
I'm sincerely hoping for a grid shut down myself... Still keeping things like electronics in the faraday trash can. Ham radio , surveillance equipment , solar parts like invertors, spare computer module for the Toyota, even an ignition module for the old 76 motor home. Yut...I am a paranoid old fool lol
Me thinks we're going to have a strange winter coming up...

ReplyDeleteThat's way to early. We are expecting a good snow year and could use the water.
DeleteRight after I posted the grid and net went down for three hours.
Hope you got the boat out first

DeleteRemember--snow is a four-letter word!
ReplyDeleteActually, I'm hoping for lots of snow. When you don't have a schedule it's not a big deal. Deep snow insulates my water line too.

If you are going to have winter cold, might as well have some snow to play in.

Strange indeed. The storm shut my grid down for three hours.
DeleteGuns are emp proof. We'd have some interesting times should that happen. With that in mine, however, I've some backups for the backups.
Wow, we're still running the AC each day.
ReplyDeleteWe don't even have AC. Now you see one of the reasons why.
DeleteYep, and we don't have a fireplace. It's a about the latitude.
