Boat test photos

A nice lady from across the lake took a few photos of my boat test last weekend. I scanned in the prints and thought I'd share.

Pretty capable 12 foot boat. I'm about 400 pounds, plus my lovely wife and dog. We could easily throw in another 100 pounds of gear and be sent for adventure.

I've been doing a little research on the Internet. The boat is short enough to be exempt from state licenses and requirements. It's a floating loophole. I love it!

    1. It is a delight to row. Some of the changes to the plans I made were so that I could row it more easily. Working on the leeboards, rudder and trailer right now. Masts and sails soon . . . soonish . . .

    1. The photo does not do the colors justice. It is amazing this time of year.

  4. The sides look a bit tall for its size. I suspect that means that it has the shallow draft you hoped for AND it should handle waves a little better. Being a landlubber, though, that's only speculation on my part. It looks a reasonable size to row, so that's good.

  5. Just don't attach any small outboard motor on it and no license will be needed. Sure looks good as does the colors behind you.

    1. Dragon! Your are back with us! Thanks. I'm glad to finally have it in the water. Plugging away at the sailing rig and boat trailer.

    2. Cha-cha-changes, I'm looking hard at a 16x6 Chugger with a sail plan. Live aboard kind of thing. I'm gonna be living out doors full time by the 31st. I looking for work closer to the river to make things happen better. Quicker even. From one builder to another, it makes me feel good when a project hits the water.

    3. Sounds like a nifty little boat idea. Quick build, I hope.

It is nice to see boat projects hit the water.

      Will you be posting soon?
