Cabin Fever

I think my lovely wife has come down with a case of cabin fever. She make her way down to our beach. The part of the trail that’s on the hill gets sun so was there wasn’t much snow. The section through the cedar swamp was hip deep. She pushed on and made it to the edge of the frozen lake.

When I asked her why she did that she said, “Because we own it.”

Okay then.

Two days ago my neighbor spent hours plowing snow. Friday he took his Harley Davidson motorcycle out for a ride. He had to avoid the icy patches in his driveway. If you need to wear a snowmobile suit to ride your motorcycle, you just might be pushing the season a bit.

Today it might get up to 60, the highest temperature in our foreseeable weather prediction. Who knows what shenanigans people will be up to.

  1. Good weather to catch a cold. I always get tickled at the old men on the first warm day taking out their convertibles with the top down.

    1. A lot of people have come down with colds. I'm getting over one myself -even though I don't have a convertible.

  2. Mowed the yard for the third time this spring yesterday. Had the AC running a few days ago when it hit mid-90s.

    1. I don't even own an AC. It's really not worth it for the few days a year when it'd be nice. During those days I usually just take a cooler of cold beer down to the lake and wade out until the temperature feels about right.

  3. 50 and 70 are the normal hi/low temps. Been in the 80's down here with 90 tomorrow and the a/c has been on for the last couple weeks. The grass now gets mowed every week.

    1. Most of my yard is still under snow and ice. There are few bare patches where the sun hits all day long. Moles have been all over those small clear spots tearing up the lawn.
