Just a short post to let everyone know we made it back home. I'll fill you all in on the details later. It was a tough trip, but we are fine. We decided to go directly to our house rather than impose on our daughter.
It's still winter here, but the power, heat and Internet are all back up and running. We are using water jugs until I get the water thawed. That'll wait until the basement gets toasty warm. Also, I'm going to need a good night's rest.

I bet it felt good pulling up to the house Six.
ReplyDeleteMixed feelings. Good to have made it, but would have enjoyed sailing for another month.
DeleteGlad to see you made it home safely!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was a long strange trip.
DeleteGlad you're home. Buy some toilet paper if there's any to buy! - lol
ReplyDeleteI'm not going anywhere for a bit, even though TP stocks are low. However, I've ordered a bidet attachment for the toilet. :)
DeleteWelcome home Six!
ReplyDeleteNow you get to stay up all night feeding the cook-stove and wood-stove to thaw out the home! :-)
I had the oil company fill up my tank so I could run the furnace. I've too much other stuff to take care of so I'm not babysitting the woodstove. Plus, I need to catch up on rest.
DeleteSo glad your home safe.
ReplyDeleteIt was touch and go for a while there.
DeleteSucks that we didn't get to visit more.
ReplyDeleteAlways next year tho...
Now you're isolated ! Hopefully you didn't pick up a hitchhiking bug on the way !
I was really looking forward to getting over to see you guys again. We were planning to sail down the ICW too. Really would have preferred to be sailing than sitting here in the snow.
DeleteWe are isolating ourselves for two weeks to make sure we didn't pick up anything in our travels.
I am glad that we did get to see you see and enjoyed your hospitality.
It would have been pretty stupid to ignore an actual world wide pandemic. Oh well. Hope we don't get a zombie outbreak next year.
Glad your home safe! Some strange times indeed... It peaked at 90* today here in nc Florida.... Too hot an dry for my liking, but the mornings still cool an crisp.... Heard this called the toilet paper virus and think it is fitting.

While I didn't like cutting our trip short, it's good to be home during these crazy times.
