Infrastructure Attacks

There’s been a number of attacks on the power grid. Personally, I wasn’t too worried about it. However, there are people who’ve asked me how serious these attacks are going to get. Well that depends on what you mean by “how serious.”

If you are on medical equipment that needs electricity and your power goes out, it’s serious. If your power is out long enough that your local water supply is impacted, it’s serious.

It appears that at least some of these attacks are a right wing attempt to destabilize the country. Will it work? In short, no. The country is too big and too diversified. There’s not enough political support behind the attacks either. Add that to the fact arrested people will do hard time. You know those people who need medical devices and die? That will be a factor when those idiots get sentenced.

These attacks will mostly fall in the nuisance category.

The grid is actually in more danger from two other things. The first is weather events. Hurricanes, tornadoes, snowstorms, flooding: those things take down the grid all the time. The second biggest issue is poorly run grid systems. Texas takes the reward on that one. It’s like they are denial that there will ever be another cold day.

People, as a matter of course, should prepare for infrastructure problems. Sure, they can happen due to terrorist activity, but it’s more likely that other issues will cause more problems. They will happen sooner or later.

What won’t happen is a successful overthrow of the government through nuisance attacks.

  1. It's quite possible, even probable that these attacks on the grid are being done by leftists being urged on by FedBois so they can blame and demonize the opposition. Who to date have done very little to actually oppose the criminal left.

  2. On what basis can you claim these were right wing attacks. More likely Liberal attacks to continue to sow chaos, confusion and disruption of society. Along with our porous border and letting criminals out of jail if they even go to jail. If it was right wing attacks, there would have some arrests by now of those "bad right wingers". Completely disagree.

  3. I'm frankly surprised you didn't post this nugget like you did the "Well that was interesting" Rule of Law post and block comments.

Would you like to explain why the Left is so morally clean and pure sir?

My question is derived from your assumption that "Evil Right Wingers MUST be behind evil actions above".

  4. Boy, you fella's have lost the whole point of the blog. Six Bears said nothing about any Evil group vs. another. He just stated, "Right Wing" which can include anyone, right or left of the political spectrum. What he did point out is that folks with ill intent have been shooting up the power stations causing a disfunction in the grid. It gets repaired and we go on. To jump right on the political band wagon without thinking about what you're reading is a part of the problem. However, I do understand each of your fears. The fact of the matter is our power grid system, nation wide, is old, tired, and used way outside of it's original engineering. Failure is inevitable regardless of how that happens.

  5. Right wing includes left and right of the political spectrum?

Pull my other finger, it's got bells on it.

6 Bears is intelligent and knows how to say "Extremists" did it not Right Wingers.

    1. Yes sir we are a country of Laws, and rights, We have the power to vote out those who don't act upon the extreme. We are also, "intelligent" enough to read the difference between BS, and true controversy. Let us not forget who we are and whence we come.

  7. Voting, eh? You should grok the French Revolution, the reign of terror and what happened to Robespierre.

Just because you feel justified in the current "Lawful Elections" remember others before you were also satisfied with their successes until Madam Guillotine kissed their necks.

History often rhymes because human nature doesn't change.

    1. Michael, I've been in some of the scariest places on the planet. Whether or not you agree, we live in the greatest, and yes freest nation on the planet even with our flaws. Voting is a tool we use to engage that freedom. And, Our revolution was before the French one. However Europeans where but one arrow away from loosing the battle and this would not have been an issue. eh, What does grok mean?

    2. And the funding of the American Revolution was one of the many straws that broke the wealthy aristocrats of France. A LOT of French Gold and Military assistance made our Proxy war against England aka American revolution succeed. Sounds a little like Ukraine, eh?

Grok as I understand it is to fully explore and ponder the 1st, second and third level effects of something or some actions.

Stranger in a strange land by Robert Heinlein. 6 Bears has read all of Heinlein.

Some of us have spent too much time overseas in scary places, Bosnia during the ethnic cleansing was pretty scary. I see too much of the French Revolution and Bosnia in our current political situation.

Thus USA, USA, and USA don't ring true for me anymore. We are but that arrow away, sir.

    3. I've never loosened the tension on my bow. Although, at the time of the Revolution my relatives for the most part had no idea Wasicu, white man, was on his way. However we adapted and stole his horse. Politics can be boiled down into the methods, reasons, and motivations for stealing Blue Coat horses, count coup on a man, learn from him, gain knowledge and strength, but don't kill him. That act only makes you the villain and leaves no hope of sharing a good cup of coffee. Thanks for Grok by the way. Maybe we're all just living in stranger lands.

  8. Well gentlemen. I got back to this rather late in the day.. As for "right wing" I'm quoting law enforcement. We shall see once arrests are made. . . or not. However, I'm expecting some arrests.

However, my main concern is that people prepare for power outages and attacks on the grid are just one way it can go down.

  9. Based on a couple of missing quotation marks, I rescind my comment.
